About Steven Appleby
Steven Appleby is one of the UK's leading cartoonists. His character, Captain Star, appeared in the New Musical Express in 1984, achieving cult status worldwide. In 1997 this became an animated TV series starring Richard E Grant and Adrian Edmondson. Since the mid 1980s Steven has contributed regularly to The Guardian, The Times, Harpers and Queen, The Sunday Telegraph, The Oldie and The Observer. His cartoons, designs and absurd observational humour have been the subject of many books and exhibitions as well as a BBC Radio 4 series, Steven Appleby's Normal Life.
