Tony Davis
A long time ago Tony Davis used to go to college and never got around to finishing his Royal College of Art Degree in Information Design {I know. You can't really believe such subjects exist...}. He left to see what he could make of a proper job.
Being a bit obsessive about technology he was one of the first users of the Mac in the UK and won awards for his book designs. The technology obsession continued with forays into three different industries: Print, Video and, finally, two glorious years with a dream job in Computing with Apple, Inc. After visiting Apple at 1, Infinite Loop, California he decided he had to create his own company which he called {following good advice from Angela Lambert} Art Meets Matter.
AMM has created a number of award-winning designs and supplies people and shops with designs all over the world. Its classic porcelain range of mugs based on Penguin Books from the 1930s are still bestsellers and have become part of our culture.
However, there aren't enough hours in the day for all Tony's ideas so he's started working with other interesting people too. This section of artmeetsprint is dedicated to personal and more unusual Tony ideas. We hope you like them.
